In 2004, the Governing Body of Aniket Ashray , after extensive survey and investigation in Delhi-NCR region, identified Village Jasana, District Faridabad for our Operations. Though the Village was adopted for all purposes our initial thrust areas were Health Care, Hygiene and Sanitation. After doing some satisfying work in Jasana, we extended our operations to other needy villages in Delhi-NCR. Having worked in the field of Health Care for over five years, we have decided to diversify in the field of Education for the very poor.

In order to fulfill this objective we have started Shiksha Bharti School in ‘C’ Block, Palam Vihar, Gurgaon. The main beneficiaries of this scheme are children of victims of war, violence, natural calamities, families below poverty line, migrant & unorganized labour and those children whose parents can not afford school education.

The Building of the school has been provided by Haryana Urban Development Authority(HUDA), where as the internal and external services are being taken care of by Municipal Corporation Gurgaon(MCG). Aniket Ashray is providing financial, management and human resource support. The school was inaugurated by the Municipal Commissioner, Gurgaon, on 14 Nov 2009 (Bal Divas Day). It has already 150 children on its rolls and more are expected. The school has children in the age group of 4+ to 9+ i.e. from KG to Class V. Presently we have another 150 children on the waiting list. The School is providing absolutely free education along with a nutritious mid-day meal. The approximate cost of educating a child at Shiksha Bharti School is about Rs.7500/- (150/- US Dollars) per year.
